Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas are nowhere close to reaching an agreement on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages.

According to iefimerida, the above was stated today by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the mediating country.
“We are not close to an agreement, which means we do not see the two sides converging on the vocabulary that might resolve the current disagreement on the implementation of an agreement,” Majed al-Ansari said during a press conference, adding that the talks between the two parties continue and expressing his optimism for reaching an agreement.
