A press report revealed that Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad was moving towards buying another club in the English Premier League, following withdrawing from the purchase of Manchester United.
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad had made a £5 billion offer to buy Manchester United outright, but he withdrew the offer following several months of negotiations.
British newspaper The Sun reported that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad has turned his attention to buying Tottenham, in partnership with Qatar Sports Investments Company, which owns Paris Saint-Germain.
The newspaper explained that Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Paris Saint-Germain, played a role in Sheikh Jassim’s offer to buy Manchester United, and the duo will work together to discuss the purchase of Tottenham.
The newspaper concluded its report that Qatar Company had long shown interest in Tottenham, and Sheikh Jassim was also looking at him as a strategic alternative if he failed to buy Manchester United.
