Quotidien’s Hilarious Take on the ‘Pipigate’ Controversy with Belgian Minister Van Quickenborne

2023-09-13 07:56:00

“Quotidien”, the famous French show by Yann Barthès, never misses an opportunity to gently mock his Belgian friends. And the so-called “pipigate” controversy which is currently poisoning the life of the Federal Minister of Justice, Vincent Van Quickenborne, is enough to inspire more than one comic.

The show, which is used to commenting on current events, had already produced a first sequence to explain the controversy in France. She did a second to give the explanations of our Minister of Justice to the deputies.

Last Thursday, Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne explained this matter to Parliament. He first apologized for his behavior before giving his explanation. For him, the video shows that he was not pretending to urinate, but that he was making “an air guitar movement.”

The set of “Quotidien” didn’t ask for that much. “Is that air guitar?”, wonders Yann Barthès. “Either it’s a very small riff, or he’s really making fun of you, Belgians! ” Before concluding: “In any case it’s genius, pure genius.”
