The regional elections in Gaugasia, an autonomous region within the Republic of Moldova, have been defeated. At first glance, the result is close, but unequivocal: The candidate of the Șor party, Yevgenija Guzul*, was elected the new regional governor of Gagauzia with 52 percent of the votes cast. Opposing candidate Grigory Usun, who is supported by the Socialists, lost in the run-off for leadership of the Moldovan sub-region. And yet everything might change once more, because investigations are underway both in relation to the elections and once morest the Șor party.
