Randle scores 39 and Brunson 33 in Knicks’ 121-105 victory over Wizards

WASHINGTON (AP) — Julius Randle scored 39 points, Jalen Brunson added 33 and the New York Knicks won their fourth straight game, beating the Washington Wizards 121-105 on Saturday.

The Knicks (21-15) had the lead throughout and built a 60-34 lead at the end of the first half, sending thousands of New York fans into Washington into a frenzy.

Randle’s 39 points were two shy of his season high. Isaiah Hartenstein added 19 rebounds for the Knicks.

Kyle Kuzma scored 27 points, but the Wizards suffered their fourth straight loss. Deni Avdija scored 23.

The Wizards committed 20 turnovers, two shy of their season high, and the Knicks scored 23 points on them.

Washington (6-29) started the second half strong and cut the lead to 74-69 with 5:23 left in the third quarter when Avdija and Kuzma combined for 19 points. New York outscored them 17-6 to close the third.

Randle scored eight points in that stretch.

The Wizards returned home following two losses in Cleveland by a combined 63 points on Wednesday and Friday.
