The pile of runners that formed there took a long time to rise, blocking all following cars. Faced with this chaos, the race management decided to interrupt the event, the time to treat the injured and above all to allow the following cars to get back behind the peloton. It then turned out that there was no more medical assistance available for the end of the race. The management of the event has therefore decided to stop the stage, sending the riders to a long scrubbing until the finish line. No winner will be declared and no difference will be taken into account in the general classification. Arnaud De Lie therefore remains the leader.
Note the crazy image of Valentin Ferron (TotalEnergies), suspended in the void, clinging to the bridge, following this fall. If the ravine under his feet was not very deep, the French rider still got a good scare.
