Loaned without purchase option to RB Leipzig, the German team seems determined to keep Dutch international Xavi Simons in its ranks.
According to information from Bild, RB Leipzig wants to make Simons the key player in its squad, by guaranteeing him a starting place and a central role in the team. To illustrate this desire, the German club plans to give him number 10, left vacant since the departure of Emil Forsberg to MLS this winter.
However, to definitively convince Simons to stay, RB Leipzig will also have to ensure their qualification for the Champions League. In the absence of this qualification, the player might be tempted to leave, and possibly return to PSG. Currently, RB Leipzig is in fifth place in the Bundesliga standings.
