realme Pad doesn’t get Android 12

Only at the end of last year the entry-level tablet from realme appeared (belong to Oppo) on the German market, 240 euros were due for the realme pad. In return, the customer receives 3 GB of RAM plus 32 GB of storage space – and the Android 11 operating system.

The 10.4 inch diagonal LCD has a resolution of 2,000 x 1,200 pixels. The battery has 7,100 mAh and four speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio are integrated.

The MediaTek Helio G80, which dates back to 2019 and now belongs to the lower mid-range, serves as the SoC. Whether this is the reason why the tablet doesn’t want to upgrade to Android 12? One does not know. But one thing is certain that the update won’t come. Instead, you will continue to receive security and performance updates throughout the software lifecycle.

I know – not everything that is limping is a comparison. But: That is not the only reason why I would never personally use an Android tablet in the price range around 300 to 400 euros. Even a used iPad – or a new one for 379 euros would be my choice.
