Record Number of Subscribers to UAE’s Private Firm Pension Scheme in June 2023

DUBAI > Subscribers to the UAE’s pension scheme for Emirati employees of private firms reached a record in June. According to statistics released by the General Pension and Social Security Authority, the number of contributors has increased to 104,038. This marks a significant increase from 87,982 donations during the same period last year. Moreover, registered employers increased from 7,451 to 10,568. The number of pensioners was 18,318 in June 2022 and 19,548 in 2023. Similarly, the number of beneficiaries increased to 8,368. Last year, 8,432 beneficiaries were recorded. In terms of insurance costs, the value of the costs in June 2023 is AED 397,799,391. This is higher than the AED 396,086,188 reported in the same period last year. The statistics were revealed at the 2023 fifth board meeting chaired by Mohammed bin Hadi Al Husseini, Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors at GPSSA.
