Record use for alpine rescuers, but fewer deaths in 2022 in the mountains of Upper Austria – Panorama

Linz – The Upper Austrian mountain rescuers rescued a total of 586 people in 525 missions last year – and thus more than ever before since recording began. Around two thirds of those affected (396) were injured. The number of deaths in 2022 was significantly lower than in the previous year, halving from 24 to twelve, the organization reported on Friday.
