Remembering John Pilger: A Legacy of Investigative Journalism, Activism, and Critique of Western Foreign Policy

London: Famous Australian journalist, film documentary maker and writer John Pilger passed away. His family announced the death through X (Twitter).

John Pilger was a strong critic of Western foreign policy. He also objected to the way his homeland treated Indigenous Australians. Born in Bondi, South Wales in 1939, Pilger has lived in London since the 1960s. He has worked in media organizations such as Archyde.com and Daily Mirror.

He also covered the Vietnam War, the Cambodian genocide, and the tumultuous situation in America in the 1969s and 70s. Pilger was among those who came out in support of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange recently when he was hunted by US and UK agencies.
