Remembering K.C. Gernhardt: A Life of Trucking, Hunting, and Family | Online Tribute at Boulger Funeral Home

K.C. Gernhardt lived in Valley City, Jamestown, and Fargo, ND. He passed away at home suddenly and unexpectedly.

During his life he drove truck, hauling flatbed freight cross-country, hauling oil and associated commodities in the oil patch of western North Dakota. He worked for various employers through the years, as well as being an owner/operator. He retired in October, 2020.

K.C. was an avid outdoorsman and particularly enjoyed hunting pheasants.

Surviving immediate family in Fargo includes: wife, Susan Berndt Gernhardt; son, Eric (Tina) Ashton; and two granddaughters.

Surviving family of origin includes: Henry “Bud” Gernhardt of Valley City, ND; Joanne (Dennis) Nygord of Jamestown, ND; Gloria Pease, AZ; Shaun Lafontaine, WA; John “Chuck” (Sandy) Leininger, MN; Tracy (Arty) Lyons, AZ; Sheila (Ron) Walter, MN; Shane (Amy) Gernhardt, IA; Joe (Wendy) Gernhardt, CO; and Tim Gernhardt, CO.
