Remote consultations with the doctor are definitely becoming part of our habits, but general practitioners are reluctant

What will change on August 1 is first of all a code change for consultations. According to the GP, this means that we make this type of consultation permanent. But there will be a financial change. The amounts for a telephone or video consultation will change.

“Before it cost the company 20 euros, the mutual paid us the sum, the third-party payment“: explains Doctor Orban, “The patient himself paid nothing, what he might take for a free consultation. Few patients asked us following a telephone consultation how much they owed us. Today, we doctors will have 10 euros in our pocket and the patient will have to pay a small amount. You imagine, asking him to make a payment before starting. It is inapplicable, the doctors will probably not claim it.”

The result for doctors is that they will earn 10, 9 or 8 euros, half as much as before.
