Tampa Bay Lightning Arena Gets New Name
The Home Of the Lightning Will Now Be Known As Benchmark International Arena.
Tampa, Florida – The Tampa Bay lightning’s home arena has officially been renamed. It will now be known as Benchmark International Arena, effective promptly.
This follows a multiyear agreement announced Wednesday between the NHL team and Benchmark International,a mergers and acquisitions firm.
The arena,which opened its doors in 1996,had been known as Amalie Arena sence 2014. It was the site of the Lightning’s stanley Cup victory in 2021, marking their second consecutive championship.
Financial details regarding the deal remain undisclosed. However, Benchmark International and Vinik sports Group, the Lightning’s owner, stated that their partnership will include over $3 million in contributions to local nonprofits.
Steve Griggs,CEO of Vinik Sports Group,praised Benchmark International. He highlighted its “global reach” and strong local connections. Amalie Motor Oil will continue as a corporate partner, according to the team.
