In order to develop the “sound” of its electric vehicles, Renault is joining forces with a renowned French composer: Jean-Michel Jarre! A document called “Behind the scenes of sound design” is available to discover the artist’s work on the next Scénic E-Tech electric.

Jean-Michel Jarre at the origin of the Renault Scénic E-Tech electric soundtrack!

Renault reveals a little more regarding its partnership with Jean-Michel Jarre thanks to a series of making-of videos on their collaboration. The series “Behind the scenes of sound design” looks back on the work of the songwriter. These videos also highlight the different challenges of sound design on electric cars.

Thus, in the next Renault Scénic E-Tech electric, Jean-Michel Jarre will be present through two elements. The composer, associated with Ircam (Institute for Acoustic/Music Research and Coordination) and the sound design teams, is at the origin of the VSP (Vehicle Sound for Pedestrians), exterior warning sound at low speed to warn pedestrians, and the welcome sound in the vehicle.

Discover his work in the video series available on the manufacturer’s Youtube channel. See you at the Munich Motor Show on September 4, 2023, as part of the world premiere of the new Renault Scénic E-Tech electric, to discover the result of this collaboration!
