It was 20.43 on Tuesday night when police reported an explosion in Pilestredet in Oslo. Later, police detonated a hand grenade in the area. No persons were injured as a result of the explosions.
Skotnes confirmed on Tuesday night that one person was brought in. Night to Wednesday, police confirm that they have brought in two more people in connection with the explosion. In total, three people have been brought in.
The person who was brought in Tuesday night was arrested in the immediate area, says Skotnes.
The interim leader says there is reason to believe that there are more people involved, which the police are not in control of.
He says the police have a main hypothesis that criminals have had an agenda against other criminals.
– We have a certain overview, but we work hard to get a wider picture.
On Tuesday evening and during the night, large searches were conducted in connection with the explosion, which happened just off Parkveien.
Operations manager Øyvind Hammervold on Tuesday stated that the police are working from a main theory that the explosion was due to a hand grenade.
Police went out wide and encouraged residents in the area to stay away from windows, asking that people not seek out the site.
The operations manager confirmed to VG that the bomb squad and police technicians are on site.
– PST is routinely oriented. We have no further comments and refer to the police in Oslo, Eirik Veum, senior adviser at PST to VG.

Tina Sviggum is a student and lives in a collective in Pilestredet.
-We first heard a bang, a real drone, says the 25-year-old to VG.
When they looked out of the living room window, they saw a man who came running from the bottom of Pilestredet.
– He waved his arms and shouted that there is a grenade in the road, says Sviggum.
She says the man stopped the tram and cars coming from above Bislett.
– A car wanted to drive on, but then the man stood in front and stopped the car again. He was not panic, more than that took control and responsibility.
Sviggum estimates that the man who stopped traffic is in his 20s.
– Could you see any object on the street?
– No. We couldn’t see traces of explosion or anything in the street, says Sviggum.

Sent emergency warning
A tipper that VG has talked to, drove past the building and says that it narrowed something violently just as he drove past the place. The bang should also have caused major damage to his car, he says.
– The whole side is damaged and the routes on one side are crushed.
He goes on to say that a car behind him should also have suffered injuries.
– It narrow, everyone heard it, and people started to run.
“We do not have an overview of material damage or personal injuries,” the police operations chief told VG on Tuesday night.
On Tuesday night, emergency warning was also sent to residents in the area.
The trams nearby were evacuated as a result of the incident. The incident also affected other tram traffic in the area.
Eirik Lie Nordbø (26) lives on the third floor of Pilestredet 55. He heard a strong bang – and laughed at as he sat watching football match on TV.
– I went over to the window – and shortly after the message was told to close the window by the police who shouted up to me and neighbors. I think this is horrible, says Nordbø to VG.

Hina Momand (22) sat with two other nursing students in the P-32 in Pilestredet and studied when they heard the powerful bang.
– I was very scared. We didn’t know what we heard. We got up immediately and looked out. Then we saw more police cars a little down the street here, Momand tells VG.
Jonar Teigen and Samuel Gray were cooking when the grenade went off.
– Then the tallest bang I heard. It thundered in my chest, says Teigen to VG.
He states that it was just before half past nine.
When they looked out the window, they saw a man with a black hooded jacket runing across the road.
– Above the street there were some who grabbed that man, and we heard that they shouted “call the police”. He stood on the other side of the street where the grenade was not. He didn’t resist, says Teigen.
The two ran down the road to stop cars and tram from driving over the grenade. Shortly after, the police came and took care of the person.
Karoline Hansen also lives close by.
– I sat watching the series, and then it narrowed a lot. They have taken one person aside. I heard some say there should be two pieces, but it looks like they only have one person.
