Sample frescoes were restored

Between November 1938 and February 1939, the National Socialists destroyed the country house frescoes by the painter Anton Kolig. The exact events are still obscure today. Only the associated sample frescoes, made by Kolig’s master students, remained on a bowling alley in Nötsch im Gailtal. Left to decay for decades, they have now been restored on behalf of the Federal Monuments Office.
