“At the meeting at the Élysée Palace held on Sunday followingnoon, Emmanuel Macron called on his ministers to continue doing everything possible to restore order and ensure a return to calm,” the outlet reported.

According to anonymous participants in the meeting, quoted by the channel, the French president also indicated that the Government must continue supporting the police, gendarmes, magistrates, firefighters and mayors, mobilized 24 hours a day during the last five days.

Since then, protesters have come out to protest, setting fire to or vandalizing thousands of vehicles, hundreds of stores and bank offices, as well as dozens of town halls and schools across the country.

According to the latest data, the French police have detained regarding 3,000 protesters, including many minors. The arrest of the agent responsible for the death of the minor, a fact that will be investigated for intentional homicide, did not calm things down.
