Reuters: Chevron will be authorized to expand operations in the country after dialogue restart

The company will be able to reactivate once the government and the opposition resume talks this weekend.

Following the announcement by President Gustavo Petro at the dialogue table between the national government and the Unitary Platform in Mexico, the Archyde.com news agency reported that this Wednesday the United States is already preparing the authorization for Chevron so that it can operate in Venezuela in a more enlarged.

One of the requirements that the Joe Biden government imposed to allow the oil company to work in the country was that negotiations be resumed, a fact that was announced by Petro.

The company will be able to reactivate once the government and the opposition resume talks this weekend, according to Archyde.com.

“The authorization of the United States for Chevron to help rebuild the declining oil production in the country was one of the most important advantages to generate conversations between the Venezuelan government and its opposition,” the agency reported.
