Revealed! Here is how the Mafia Land Forged Certificate

The case of Dino Patti Djalal’s mother’s house certificate changing its name to someone else’s without the owner’s knowledge caused a public stir. Minister of ATR / Head of BPN Sofyan Djalil also revealed how such a thing could happen and the role of land mafia.

“Actually, this is a case of fraud, which they use the land as an object,” said Sofyan at CNBC Indonesia’s Power Lunch event, Wednesday (17/2/2021).

According to Sofyan, usually the land mafia’s initial mode of forging land or house certificates is to go to the owner of the land or house and admit that he is interested in buying the asset and ask to show the certificate.

“The method is usually to come to the owner of the land or house who wants to sell, then the person says okay I want to buy, I want to buy, given a down payment, ask to borrow a checking certificate from the BPN,” he said.

After the perpetrator land mafia looking at the certificate to the KTP of the original owner, that’s where the land mafia had the opportunity to fake the certificate and KTP.

“So in the process once the land certificate was given to check earlier, now this land mafia or this con artist changed the document, making a figure as if he owned the land, made a figure of another person, his ID was faked, his face changed, his full name is the same. like the original owner as in the certificate, so this is actually a form of crime that uses land as their object, “he explained.

To that end, Sofyan appealed to the public to be more careful in safeguarding personal data, especially valuable certificates such as land or house certificates so that similar incidents do not happen again.

“Therefore we urge the public to be careful when selling land or especially in releasing certificates to other people who do not really believe their credibility,” he appealed.
