A recent study aimed at devising an effective alternative to needles commonly used to treat obesity showed that high doses of Wegovy pills may help in losing weight at a rate of 6-9 kilograms.
High doses of this drug, according to the Associated Press, significantly reduce blood sugar, which helps obese patients burn fat, especially those with diabetes.
This study lasted 16 months, in which more than 1,600 patients with diabetes of the second degree with obesity participated, as the participants lost 15% of their weight during the study period, and the company, “Novo Nordisk” for medicines, intends to obtain approval to put the drug on the market soon.
