Oslo, Norway – Harald Børrestad, a prominent figure in Norwegian television sports, recently shared personal updates and career aspirations while participating in teh Bowling Celebrity Invitational at Lucky Bowl in Veitvet. The event saw thirty celebrities competing in a kind bowling tournament.

Reflecting on Personal Life

Børrestad recounted a past connection too the sport, recalling casual bowling sessions during his youth. “I haven’t played much bowling,” he admitted. “I played a bit at Åssiden in Drammen when I was younger, when you’re trying to go on a date and such.”

The seasoned broadcaster also addressed his marital status, confirming his continued single status following his divorce from Marion Kinden in the previous year after a thirteen-year marriage. Despite some attention, Børrestad indicated he is not actively seeking a relationship. “I’m still single, yes, haha,” he stated.”It is very quiet and peaceful. I really have more than enough to do with work and my daughter. So I’m not an active dater. I think I’m bad at dating, that is.”

He acknowledged receiving some overtures but remains content.”There have been some things… It’s very nice, then,” he commented, adding, “I’m not looking. I’m cool with that. If I’m going to find a lady, it has to be one hundred percent. All in.”

Evaluating Reality TV and Career Choices

Børrestad recently tested the reality television landscape, participating in the TV 2 program “The Game.” He described the experience as enjoyable, especially given the recent changes in his personal life. “It was a lot of fun. I was in right after my divorce so I had real problems. So I think that helped a little, it’s not life and death after all. I think it was great fun to do something different, and then my daughter was completely wild.” He also remained pragmatic about his future participation. “But I think I have to be a bit selective, that the shoemaker should stick to his last. It’s football I know.”

Having turned down multiple reality television offers, he stated, “I have turned down a number of things in the past.” When asked for specifics, he remained evasive. “No, I don’t know what it’s like there… I’m not notably treacherous and not good at dancing either. No, ‘Traitor’ has never asked me.”

A Long-Held Championship Dream

Having been with TV 2 Sporten since 2002, Børrestad revealed a desire to cover a Men’s National Team championship-a feat that has eluded him throughout his career.”I have worked for TV 2 Sporten as 2002 and have never covered a men’s national team in a championship – and now I am 48 years old. That group now is absolutely fantastic. It’s absolutely raw to watch, the best national team of all time. now we have to get to that championship and it will happen.”

Reflecting on Norway’s 1998 World Cup appearance, he shared a personal anecdote. “Then I was a NATO soldier. We were a little late from Gardermoen, as we were going to Bosnia with the Telemark Battalion. If I hadn’t been late, I would never have seen the match,” he recalled. “But I stood in full uniform in the double bed at the NATO hotel in munich and cheered. we had beaten Brazil, I remember that very well, then we were flown over the next day.”

Børrestad expressed strong belief in the current national team, stating, “Personally, I will be disappointed if they do not progress from the group stage. Then anything can happen. I’m not saying they will become world champions.” He predicted excited celebrations if Norway qualifies for future championships. – It’s just to clear Karl Johan. People are going to bathe in fountains and it’s going to be crazy. All the championships I’ve been to, people say how amazing it is indeed for the nations and the supporters who get to be there. And we have been cheated for that.People are going to go bananas. There will be another emigration to the United States.”

He acknowledged that upcoming qualifiers against Estonia and perhaps Italy in November are crucial. “It will be a possible priviledge to be allowed to be part of conveying something historic with a historic national team.It has to go, but there is still a part in my stomach that thinks it could go to hell too, but it can’t.”

The Evolution of Sports Broadcasting in Norway
