The Automobile Club of Germany (AvD) is planning endurance races on the legendary Nordschleife of the Nürburgring from the 2024 motorsport season. For this purpose, a new company, Nürburgring Endurance Serie GmbH, was founded. There will soon be discussions with the teams and the Nürburgring Long Distance Interest Group (ILN). The aim is to “bring together the tradition of long-distance motorsport on the most legendary race track in the world and the requirements of a successful, modern racing series for the future,” explained AvD managing director Lutz Leif Linden.

The main key points of the regulations should be available in around two months. The aim of the new company is, among other things, to enable all vehicles that have previously competed in the NLS to take part in long-distance races in the future.

The AvD sports department is firmly planning at least eight races, each lasting four, six or twelve hours, on the combination of the Grand Prix track and the Nordschleife. (aum)
