Breaking: Hilden Citizens Festival Invites All to a Dance Extravaganza
Groove to the Beat at Hilden’s Annual Festival
Organizers of the Hilden Citizens’ Festival have announced an exciting line-up of dance events that are set to make this year’s festival a memorable one for all ages and dance enthusiasts. This year, the festival will include both a city-wide dance campaign and a contest for a self-made song.
City-wide Dance Campaign “Hilden Dances”
The festival’s highlight, the “Hilden Dances” campaign, is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2025, on the Ellen-Wiederhold-Platz. This hands-on campaign encourages participants of all generations to try their feet at various dance styles like Discofox, Bachata, and Line Dance. Experience the city’s rhythm come alive in a spectacular show from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Led by Hilden dance teacher Sven Reichelt and moderated by WDR journalist and Hildener Sven Lorig, the program guarantees fun and inclusivity. No prior dance experience is necessary—just an enthusiasm to groove and swing.
City-wide Song Contest
Another exciting event is the City-wide Song Contest on the same Sunday. Festival-goers are invited to vote for their favorite self-made song. Organizers are aiming to achieve enough participation to make this contest a resounding success, echoing the energy of last year’s Line Dance performance that brought over 500 people together in front of the town hall.
The Birth of “Hilden Dances”
The concept for “Hilden Dances” was born following last year’s festival, where more than 500 people united for a Line Dance in front of the town hall. This year’s campaign aims to continue fostering community spirit and getting people moving.
How to Participate
Everyone is encouraged to join in and experience the rhythm of Hilden firsthand. Simply show up, get in the movement, and feel the city’s vibe. Whether you’re a dance veteran or just starting, “Hilden Dances” promises to be an experience not to be missed.
