Rihanna’s Home Shot At: Woman Arrested in Attempted Murder Case

A 35-year-old Florida woman, Ivanna Ortiz, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly firing shots at the Beverly Hills home of singer Rihanna, according to Los Angeles police. The incident, which occurred around 1 p.m. Sunday, left neighbors on edge and prompted a swift response from law enforcement.

Ortiz was taken into custody after a pursuit that ended in a mall parking garage in Sherman Oaks, California. Authorities allege she fired upon the property from a white Tesla, striking the front gate and a nearby recreational vehicle. No injuries were reported, and Rihanna was home at the time of the shooting, police confirmed.

The Los Angeles Police Department recovered an assault rifle and seven casings from the vehicle following Ortiz’s arrest, according to a spokesperson cited by the Los Angeles Times. Bail has been set at $10.2 million, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s inmate information center.

According to police dispatch audio reviewed by the Times, at least 10 shots were fired at the residence. NBC4 reported that at least four rounds hit the home, leaving bullet holes in the gate. Video from the scene showed the damage, with bullet holes covered with tape.

Details of the Arrest and Investigation

The suspect’s vehicle fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive after the shooting, prompting an aerial pursuit by an LAPD helicopter. Ortiz was apprehended approximately 30 minutes after the initial 911 call. Investigators are currently working to determine a motive for the shooting and whether Ortiz knew Rihanna resided at the property. Law enforcement sources are examining Ortiz’s social media presence and background, according to ABC7.

Ivana Lisette Ortiz has a prior criminal record in Florida, including several incidents of domestic violence dating back to 2023, ABC7 reported. The weapon allegedly used in the shooting was an AR-style gun.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Home Targeted

Rihanna shares the Beverly Glen mansion with her partner, A$AP Rocky. The couple has two sons and one daughter. The incident has raised concerns about security in the typically quiet neighborhood, with one neighbor telling KTLA they were “a little shocked” by the gunfire. “We don’t hear that kind of thing in this neighborhood. It’s pretty quiet,” the neighbor said.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about the number of rounds fired or the specific type of weapon used beyond its classification as an AR-15-style gun. The LAPD has stated the incident remains under investigation.

As of Tuesday, March 10, 2026, Ivanna Ortiz remains in custody. The case is expected to proceed through the Los Angeles County court system, and further details regarding potential charges and a trial date will be released as they become available. The focus now shifts to understanding the motive behind this alleged act of violence and ensuring the safety and security of Rihanna and her family.
