Ring eclipse: photos of Earth taken by GOES satellites show phenomenon seen from space

The ring eclipse that occurred last Saturday (14) caught the attention of many people who tried to capture the most incredible images of the astronomical phenomenon. Today we can see it from another angle thanks to the GOES satellites of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

As we can see above, the annular eclipse created a shadow on planet Earth, which ranged from North America to South America, which made it possible for it to be seen in several states in Brazil. Outside the shadow area the eclipse was seen as partial.

This phenomenon is created when the Moon comes between the Earth and the Sun, creating a kind of luminous ring, which gave the name to this event. The next ring eclipse will occur on October 2, 2024, but it can only be seen by residents of the extreme south of America and some areas of the Pacific Ocean.
