Rising Hepatitis A Cases in Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu Region: Important Travel Recommendations

Au Kazakhstansince the beginning of 2023, 88 cases of hepatitis A have been recorded in the region of Zhetysu, including 20 in children under 14 years of age. This represents an increase of more than 7 times compared to last year.

Recommendations for travelers:

Vaccination is recommended from the age of 1 year for all travelers having to stay in a country where the level of hygiene is low, whatever the conditions of the stay. It is particularly recommended for people with chronic liver disease or cystic fibrosis.
