Rovanpera snatches leadership in the rain in Estonia, Neuville in 5th place

terrible duel between Elfyn Evans (Toyota) etc Kalle Rovanpera (Toyota) on the first day of Rally Estonia, the seventh round of the WRC season.

The Welsh driver initially set the first five best times of the day… but his young teammate, leader of the world championship, signed the three scratches at the end of the followingnoon. Evans was leading, but he broke down on the last special of the day, in the rain, leaving 1st place to Rovanpera for 11.7 seconds.

There, Tanak (Hyundai) is third at 44.3 seconds, Esapekka Lappi (Toyota) the fourth, at 1:05.9, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) being him fifth, at 1:12.9. Our compatriot is not completely comfortable and is looking for confidence on the Estonian course.

Saturday, the menu provides 95.02 kilometers with two loops of four specials, all punctuated by a second passage in Tartu. Five specials will be watched live on RTBF Auvio and our Sport site.
