RAM plans to open “many” new airline routes mainly to Africa, Europe and the Americas, Addou pointed out. The Moroccan airline is putting the final touches to a call for tenders for the acquisition of new long and medium-haul aircraft to meet an expected increase in tourist arrivals in Morocco and to expand its network, underlines the American media .

A larger fleet is essential to boost the company’s global stature and capitalize on Morocco’s brand image as a destination of choice for tourists, the RAM CEO stressed on the sidelines of his participation in the conference. “Bloomberg New Economy Gateway Africa” organized in Marrakech.

Royal Air Maroc wants to consolidate its Casablanca hub as a transit hub for sub-Saharan Africa, Addou said, noting that “the continent’s potential is very large and needs to be developed by African airlines.”

The “Bloomberg New Economy Gateway Africa” conference, organized under the theme “Gateway Africa” by Bloomberg in partnership with the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), opened on Tuesday in Marrakech with the participation of more of 200 economic and political decision-makers, national and international, with the aim of discussing responses to current challenges and contributing to the sustained economic development of Africa.
