Luis Rubiales was re-elected president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) until 2024 on Monday at the Spanish football headquarters in Las Rozas, north of Madrid. Ninety-five votes were counted in favor of Rubiales, no votes against, and ten blank votes. Luis Rubiales was the only candidate after the candidacy of former Real Madrid goalkeeper and legend and Roja Iker Casillas withdrew. Rubiales took over from Angel Villar as President of the RFEF on May 17, 2018 after the previous leader was removed from his post by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on December 21, 2017.
