Russia: Putin replaces the commander of the offensive in Ukraine

In a press release, the ministry declared that Valéri Guerassimov had been appointed “commander of the combined group of troops” deployed in Ukraine, replacing Sergei Surovikin who took up this post just in November. According to the ministry, this change is explained by a “broadening of the missions” to be fulfilled and the “need” for “closer interaction” between the components of the army.
