Russian Air Strikes Kill Two and Injure 40 in Kiev and Kharkiv: Latest Updates and News

Two people were killed and 40 injured in air strikes carried out by Russian forces on Monday night and Tuesday on the cities of Kiev and Kharkiv, as the authorities announced.

The Ukrainian General Staff said: “Last night, the Russian army launched a missile attack on Ukraine, using cruise, ballistic, and aviation-guided and anti-aircraft missiles.”

Regional Governor Oleg Sinigubov said: “28 people were injured in the strikes on Kharkiv. Unfortunately, two women, aged 56 and 40, were killed.”

Officials reported that in the Kiev region, 13 people were injured.

The head of the investigation department in the Kharkiv region, Sergei Polvinov, said: “According to preliminary data, children were injured by shrapnel… and a woman was also injured.”

The mayor of Kharkiv said: “As a result of the bombing in the morning, we have complete destruction in part of a residential building. Rescue personnel are now trying to dismantle the rubble to find people underneath.”

The authorities in Kiev announced that two people were injured in another bombing.

Kiev Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said: “So far, one victim has been hospitalized in the Solomyansky district.”
