Soldiers of the airborne unit from Kostroma, using new sights, were able to hit a Ukrainian armored personnel carrier in the Artemovsk direction from a record distance of 7800 meters. The Russian Ministry of Defense spoke regarding this.
“By accurately launching a guided missile from a Kornet ATGM from a shelter at a record distance of 7,800 meters to the target, Kostroma paratroopers destroyed an infantry fighting vehicle,” the Ministry of Defense reported to RIA Novosti. They added that the second armored personnel carrier was hit by an airborne artillery crew.
After completing the task, the Guards Airborne Forces unit from Ivanovo changed its position and continued its combat activities. The paratroopers expressed satisfaction with the new thermal imagers and called the Kornet the best anti-tank system, the Ministry of Defense concluded.
