Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu checked the Russian garrisons in the Arctic. During the inspection, the minister drew attention to their readiness to protect especially important facilities.
“Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the remote Arctic garrisons of the Northern Fleet. He checked the organization of official activities and the fulfillment of tasks for the purpose of special units and units deployed on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, including readiness for actions to protect and defend especially important facilities, ”- reported The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in its telegram channel.
Shoigu also checked social facilities in the village of Belushya Guba. There is the northernmost school in the country. Last year, a kindergarten was built on the archipelago.
The minister, together with the head of Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, also flew around the facilities of the Central Test Site of Russia. Nuclear tests have been conducted there for half a century. RT.
