Moscow: Police arrested a Russian woman who sold her five-day-old baby for money to get a nose surgery. The woman sold her baby for Rs 286,163. Police have not released their names. The woman gave birth to a baby on April 25 at a hospital in Kaspiysk, southern Russia.
On the fifth day, the baby was sold to another couple. The police detained a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of human trafficking at the end of May. The couple who adopted the baby illegally were also detained by the police. The couple told the police that the woman voluntarily gave the baby to them.
They did not tell the police that the baby was bought with money. The woman asked them to do a nose surgery because of breathing problem and to pay 3200 dollars for it. The couple then happily agreed to adopt the child. The police did not disclose whose care the baby, who is now almost two months old, is in.
