Frankfurt – The low-cost airline Ryanair has once more successfully sued once morest state corona aid for competitors. On Wednesday, the EU court declared an approval of around 130 million euros in aid in Italy by the EU Commission to be void because it had not been adequately justified. Only airlines that paid their employees according to tariffs benefited from the Italian compensation fund for burdens due to travel restrictions during the corona pandemic. These included the Lufthansa subsidiary Air Dolomiti. According to the court, the EU Commission should have explained in detail why it saw no disadvantage for competition in the subsidy under these conditions.
