It has been reported that some owners of the new Samsung Galaxy Fold 6 have noticed that the paint on their device is starting to peel. Samsung attributes this phenomenon to the use of third-party chargers and accessories.

The company says the issue is caused by using third-party high-speed chargers that aren’t properly grounded, causing current leakage and damaging the device’s anodized finish. Samsung recommends using only original chargers, which it hasn’t included in the box since 2021.
The company also says that using quality third-party chargers that comply with the Qi standard should not be a problem. However, there are low-quality or counterfeit chargers on the market that can damage the metal of the device. Samsung emphasizes that all its products undergo rigorous testing and advises contacting service centers for assistance.
