A former Infowars employee, who is known to torture parents of the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootout, was arrested for illegally possessing someone else’s personal identification information, according to the prison’s records.
Wolfgang Walter Halbig, 73, from Sorrento, Florida, was arrested shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
His arrest came after an announcement by Leonard Pozner, whose 6-year-old son had been killed in the 2012 shootings, according to the New York Times. Halig repeatedly emailed Pozner’s social security number, date of birth, and other information to different people, including “several different law enforcement and news channels,” reports the NYT.
Half, who has claimed for years that the shootout in Newtown, Connecticut, in which 20 children and six adults died, never took place, has recently been indicted in several lawsuits against Infowars host Alex Jones, according to the Huffington Post. Jones is reported to have been indicted by at least nine Sandy Hook families for alleging that the parents were “crisis actors” and the shootout never occurred.
Half of the third-degree crime was held on bail of $ 5,000 and has since been released from prison, according to Lake County Sheriffs.
