Saudi Arabia’s Bid to Host the 2034 World Cup: FIFA Nomination Submission and Global Support

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has submitted a nomination to FIFA seeking permission to host the 2034 World Cup. This was informed by the Saudi Football Association. This year’s Club World Cup will also be hosted by Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Last Wednesday, Saudi Arabia announced its bid to host the 2034 World Cup. Behind that is the announcement that the nomination has been submitted.

Yasser bin Hassan Al Mishal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Association and a member of the FIFA Council, said: “The nomination is in recognition of our efforts to make the dream of hosting the World Cup a reality.

He added that a complete nomination form has been submitted, presenting Saudi’s interest and capacity to host the competition and welcome football fans from around the world to the country.

Within hours of the Saudi Football Association’s announcement of the nomination submission, more than 70 football federations from different continents expressed their support for Saudi Arabia.
