Businessman Naguib Sawiris mourned the counselor, Hisham Bastawisi, the former presidential candidate, who passed away on Saturday.
Sawiris wrote, through his account on Twitter, a short while ago: “God have mercy on him … a man of principles.”
Counselor Hisham Bastawisi, a former vice president of the Court of Cassation, and a candidate for the presidency in the 2012 elections, died today at the age of 70.
Al-Bastawisi is considered one of the active symbols in the independence movement of the judiciary before the revolution of 25 January 2011, and he resigned from the judiciary in preparation for his candidacy for the presidency in 2012, where he ran as a representative of the Tagammu Party, and got about 29,000 votes.
