Sberbank has launched transfers by account number in Chinese yuan within Russia. Transfers in Belarusian rubles to banks in Belarus are also possible, according to a press release from the bank (Kommersant has it).

To transfer, you need to have a savings account in the appropriate currency. The commission is 1% of the amount of the transferred currency. Transfers are available in the web version or in the Sberbank Online mobile app on the Android platform.

The growth in demand for the yuan was noted in the summer of 2022. According to a survey by the investment broker Finam, the yuan is one of the top three currencies that Russians use to keep their savings in cash. 17% of Russians hold cash in Chinese currency.

Details – in the material “Kommersant FM” “The yuan is preferred in cash.”
