In downtown Ouagadougou, demonstrators celebrate the fall of President Roch Kaboré, overthrown on Monday by putschist soldiers. Scenes of joy during which we can also hear a discourse hostile to France, as explained by France 24 correspondent in Burkina Faso, Kalidou Sy.

“Long live the army”, “you are heroes”, chanted in the streets of Ouagadougou, Tuesday, January 25, hundreds of people in favor of the military coup that overthrew President Roch Marc Kaboré in Burkina Faso.

To the sound of horns, whistles, vuvuzelas, demonstrators spontaneously gathered on Place de la Nation, in the heart of the Burkinabè capital, to celebrate the new strong men of the country.

Posters of the Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, leader of the putschists, were even sold on the spot. If they salute the action of the rebels, the demonstrators also address messages hostile to France.
