Search in Vaudreuil-Dorion | The Journal of Montreal

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is carrying out a mysterious search in connection with “national security” in a residence in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in Montérégie.

A large police deployment is present around one of the few houses on Avenue Aquin.

The integrated national security team is there to conduct a national security investigation, Sergeant Charles Poirier, spokesman for the national police force, confirmed by email.

Earlier in the evening, the tactical intervention group was also on the scene to assist the investigation.

A resident who refused to identify himself reported seeing regarding fifteen police cars in front of a residence at supper time.

Since the departure of the tactical intervention group, there are only two or three vehicles in front of the residence, according to another resident, who also requested anonymity.

The RCMP will be on scene at least until noon tomorrow.

There is no risk for the population, assures Sergeant Poirier in his email.

However, he did not give further details as to the extent and nature of the search.
