Australian police have resumed the search for Belgian tourist Céline Cremer, who disappeared on the island of Tasmania, she announced on her website on Saturday. A body detector dog is also mobilized.

The 31-year-old woman was last seen in Waratah, a town in the northwest of the island located regarding ten kilometers from Philosopher Falls. At the beginning of July, the police probed the waters of these falls, without success. On July 10, they decided to stop the search.

“Last week, the police received additional information regarding Celine’s telephone activities,” police inspector Anthéa Maingay said on Saturday. An analysis of this data uncovered a new search area in the Philosopher Falls area.

A new search is now being carried out, including with a New South Wales State Police body detector dog. “The dog is being used to comb the area today. It will continue tomorrow,” Ms Maingay said.
