After the announcement of its non-participation in the Kansas City tournament in the United States, the Senegalese national women’s basketball team will finally have two substitute friendly matches which will take place in Rwanda, host country of Afrobasket 2023.

The band of Aya Traoré will not finally go to prepare for the United States with the Kansas City tournament to play in the women’s Afrobasket scheduled for July 28 to August 6, 2023 in Rwanda. Indeed the Senegalese Basketball Federation has announced that the organizers of the said international basketball tournament have rescheduled the competition to a date “who might not allow the Lionesses to participate given their schedule”.

So to remedy this situation and allow the team to find its marks before the Afrobasket, the FSBB “has sought and obtained two friendly matches which will be played in Kigali, one on July 23 once morest Rwanda and the other on July 25 once morest Egypt”.
