Breaking News: Mülheim an der Ruhr Hosts Second Annual Rollator Day
After the triumphant success of last year’s premiere, the Senior Council of Mülheim an der Ruhr is thrilled to announce the second annual Rollator Day. Scheduled for April 2, 2023, at Kurt-Schumacher-Platz, this event is open to the public and aims to assist individuals in safely using rollators for enhanced mobility and social participation.
Why Rollator Day Matters
Rollators have become indispensable for many, offering freedom of movement and social inclusion. However, everyday obstacles such as uneven curbs, steps, and bus entry thresholds can pose significant risks. Safe use and proper training are crucial to prevent accidents and ensure comfort.
Expert Sessions and Practical Training
Led by Dr. Daniela Grobe, the social councilor, and supported by local network partners, the event will feature free training and personalized advice. Attendees can consult experts from the traffic watch and medical supply store Wagener for rollator suitability, handling techniques, and familiarization.
A tailored obstacle course by the Essen police prevention team will give participants hands-on experience, while Ruhrbahn will offer a bus to practice boarding and exiting. The municipal senior council will also be on hand to answer questions.
Empowering for All
Rollators are not just mobility aids; they are symbols of independence and quality of life. As our population ages, initiatives like Rollator Day take on greater significance, ensuring that everyone can safely and comfortably navigate their surroundings.
