This day, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported that the Sentencing Hearing once morest the former Minister of Defense of the FMLN, David Munguía Payes, and his family group has ended.
After 15 days, the Prosecutor’s Office has shown that the former official mobilized $4,638,164.91 for personal benefit. In addition, the Specialized Asset Forfeiture Court was requested that 9 properties, including a beach ranch, 2 vehicles and 9 fixed-term deposits become managed by the State.
Between 2009 and 2018, Munguía Payés used state funds to purchase assets and investments in fixed-term deposits. The result of this process will be announced on May 24.
