It happened specifically in the Las Cabimas urbanization, in the Mara municipality. The victim was identified as Adelis Ramón Marín Pineda, 76, reported the Noticia al Día portal.

It transpired that the victim went to turn on one of the kitchen burners and when lighting a tinderbox the explosion occurred, presumably due to a gas leak.
