A man was seriously injured on Sunday followingnoon during a brawl in the Brussels municipality of Schaerbeek, the Brussels-North police zone said on Monday. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, while police were able to arrest a suspect.
“Our brigades had to intervene around 4.45 p.m. for a fight between two people on Liedts Square,” the police explained. “On the spot, the agents found a seriously injured man. He was taken to hospital by an ambulance in critical condition. His life is still in danger”.
The second person involved in the fight tried to flee but was able to be apprehended. “The exact circumstances and reason for these acts are yet to be further investigated,” police added.
