Dortmund travel to Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Thursday (18/2/2021) in the morning WIB, to face Sevilla in the first leg of the Champions League last 16.
Dortmund are not favored to win considering their poor performance in the Bundesliga, only winning 14 points from their last 10 matches.
Even Sevilla, who were on fire again because they won their last nine parties, were able to get ahead quickly in the sixth minute through Suso’s goal.
However, the goal sparked Dortmund’s enthusiasm to equalize the score through Mahmoud Dahoud in the 19th minute, when his shot from outside the penalty box slid into Yassine Bounou’s goal.
Dortmund turned ahead in the 27th minute through Erling Haaland and made it 3-1 through the Norwegian players’ goals in injury time.
Sevilla cut the score again to 2-3 in the final 10 minutes of the match through Luuk de Jong, but failed to secure a draw. Dortmund won and injured Sevilla.
This is Sevilla’s first defeat in nine matches. In addition, Dahoud’s goal became the first goal in Sevilla’s net in eight matches.
Previous, Sevilla always clean sheets in seven consecutive matches in all competitions, namely against Cadiz, Valencia, Eibar, Almeria, Getafe, Barcelona and Huesca. Even from the last 10 matches, Sevilla only conceded one goal.
So it’s a tough task for Sevilla to reverse this one goal deficit when they visit Signal-Iduna Park next month.
